You have been selected to serve on the 2008 WV HOBY Seminar Staff. If this is your first time on staff, welcome! The Seminar is a wonderful volunteer opportunity for Operations, Junior, Senior and State Staffs. It is an amazing journey to contribute to the seminar experience for 140+ ambassadors.

Operations Staff, Junior Facilitators and Senior Facilitators are expected to attend the entire seminar. If you cannot attend the entire event, please contact the WV HOBY Director of Facilitators, Jared Ciesla. We recognize that there are other important events taking place at the same time as the WV HOBY Seminar. Every staff member makes a sacrifice to attend. We value your commitment to HOBY.

The WV HOBY Seminar Staff is expected to arrive at the University of Charleston on Wednesday evening, May 14th. Staff can register from 4:30-5:30 pm. Staff should check-in at the Appalachian Room on the 2nd Floor of the Geary Student Union at the University of Charleston. LOCATION NOTE: We are returning to the University of Charleston this year.

You will need to turn in all of your completed paperwork, pay any fees and pick-up your staff shirt. Once you have completed the staff registation process, you will be directed to the dormitory check-in. The dorms will open at 4:30 pm. We recommend leaving your luggage in the car until you are ready to move into the dorm.

All staff members should be registered, checked-in at the dorm and back at the Geary Student Union ready to begin training at 6:00 pm. ALL WV HOBY STAFF MUST ATTEND TRAINING! If you cannot attend the training session on Wednesday evening, please contact Jared Ciesla to make alternate arrangements.

The staff registration materials are available online. The materials include seminar information, packing lists, directions and paperwork that needs to be completed, signed, notarized and returned to us. If you cannot download or print the packet, we will be happy to send you a copy in the mail. We are hopeful that you will be able to download and print this packet with minimal effort.

We are offering the staff registration materials online in an effort to save money.

Part of being a leader is taking care of details. You can demonstrate your leadership abilities by downloading and completing this packet. You must complete all paperwork to participate in the Seminar! STATE STAFF - THIS INCLUDES YOU! PLEASE COMPLETE THE PAPERWORK BEFORE YOU ARRIVE AT UC.

Instructions for downloading staff info:
(1) Enter your contact information into the log database so we know you have downloaded your information. This database will also serve as our master staff list. Enter your information as you want it to appear on the final staff list that is distributed to ambassadors and staff. The staff list will only include your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address. Other sensitive information will not be distributed!
(2) Open (or save) the files, then print.
