You have been selected to represent your school at the Annual West Virginia Hugh O'Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership Seminar.

Ambassadors are expected to attend the entire seminar. If you cannot attend the entire event, please contact the WV HOBY Director of Recruitment, Lori Hildreth, or your high school guidance counselor. We recognize that there are other important events taking place at the same time as the WV HOBY Seminar. However, we will continue to adhere to our attendance policy to comply with HOBY International Rules and Regulations regarding attendance at a HOBY Seminar. WV HOBY volunteers are sensitive to the difficult decisions that ambassadors must make between conflicting events. If you cannot attend the entire HOBY Seminar, we ask that you allow another representative from your school to attend.

In an effort to accommodate as many students as possible, we will be considering late arrivals on Thursday, May 13th. To be considered for late arrival, you must contact Lori Hildreth at 804.517.9927

This year we are offering our pre-seminar packet online. The packet includes seminar information, packing lists, directions and paperwork that needs to be completed, signed, notarized and returned to us. If you cannot download or print the packet, we will be happy to send you a copy in the mail. We are hopeful that you will be able to download and print this packet with minimal effort.

We are offering the pre-seminar packet online in an effort to save money. As you know, the WV HOBY Seminar is offered to students and schools free-of-charge. Many ambassadors are sponsored by local GFWCs, Lions Clubs, Rotary Clubs, and other civic organizations. Businesses throughout WV also make corporate and gift-in-kind donations to the program. Offering this packet online saves us hundreds of dollars that can be used to enhance your seminar experience!

Part of being a leader is taking care of details. You can demonstrate your leadership abilities by downloading and completing this pre-seminar packet and returning it by April 16, 2010.
