ATTENDANCE POLICY FOR AMBASSADORS

The West Virginia HOBY program maintains a strict attendance policy for ambassadors. Ambassadors MUST make a commitment to STAY FOR THE ENTIRE EVENT. We recognize HOBY ambassadors are very active leaders in their schools and communities. There are occasions that ambassadors must make difficult decisions about whether or not to attend the seminar because of competing events. This year will be no different. We know that the State Track Meet, Sectional Baseball Tournaments, and other events are scheduled during the same time as the WV HOBY Seminar (click here for a list of events). The decision to hold the seminar May 15-18, 2008, was chosen based on facility availability.

Ambassadors may arrive late on Thursday. Any request for late arrival should be made to the Director of Recruitment or Leadership Seminar Chair. Late arrivals will be coordinated on a case-by-case basis.  Ambassadors may depart the seminar early, but they will NOT be permitted to return once they depart.

If you have a scheduling problem, we strongly suggest offering the weekend to your school's alternate.
